I've been going to movies here for a couple years. Recently they stopped running the air conditioner before the movie starts and for about the last 20-30 minutes of it. The result is an uncomfortable hot theater. The last time I was there it actually got so hot that I got sick. There are plenty of theaters in the area that stay a comfortable temperature, so I won't be going back here.

I find this theatre to be above average in most respects. I've always been happy with the cleanliness, service, pictures, wait times and food. As everyone expects, the prices can be a bit much, especially if you like to go to the movies frequently. There are also nice nearby restaurants and shops.

These things aren't the theater's fault, but definitely make the overall experience less enjoyable.

Movie was good, matinee price was right, concession stand line was REALLY long. Waited 15 minutes!

Seriously, go to Regal Springfield Town Center 12. You pay about the same price for your ticket, but you get to reserve your seats AND you get those awesome reclining chairs for the same price.

I'll also mention that the location of Kingstowne 16 isn't ideal. The county has tried to spruce up this area by adding in the shopping center, but it's still not great. I've personally witnessed a fight break out outside of the theater on a Friday night and was once pulled aside by a police officer who mistook me for someone who had started a fight earlier that day. Now, there's almost always 1-2 police officers parked outside of the theater to "keep the peace".

I am not a fan of Kingstowne 16. With so many nice movie theaters around, especially the Regal at Springfield mall, Kingstowne simply does not compete. You can't pre-pick your seating, so there's no guarantee you're going to get to sit where you want, the theater itself feels dingy and dirty and the ticket prices are ridiculously expensive (I paid $13.50 per ticket last time I was there). That money is NOT worth the experience.

Additionally, parking is predictably terrible and parking is almost always a nightmare.

Has everything one expects at first run movies on opening weekend. Concession lines, comfortable seats, boxes of hankies (bring your own) for the emotional responses. Modern, clean, well run theater.
